Cooking Instructions:

Stovetop Method : Combine 1 cup of rice, 2 cups of water and a teaspoon of salt in a 2- to 3-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring once or twice. Reduce heat, then cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until all the liquid is absorbed. Fluff with fork and serve.

Microwave Method: Combine 1 cup of rice, 2 cups of water and a teaspoon of salt in a 2- to 3-quart microwave-safe container. Cover and cook on high for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to 50 percent power and microwave an additional 20 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed. Let stand for 5 minutes more before serving.

Parboiled rice is white rice that has been "pre-cooked" before being packaged. Minute Rice is par-boiled. This means you can cook it in just a few minutes, versus 20-30 minutes for brown or white rice. However, it has the lowest amount of nutrients of all three types(Brown,White and Parboiled) of rice, since some of the vitamins and minerals have leached out during the parboiling process.
